Brighton have been linked with a potential loan move for Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.

The highly rated forward, who joined Real Madrid from River Plate in August 2025 for a fee reported to be between £52–55 million, has endured limited first-team opportunities since arriving in Spain. As a result, a temporary move away is now being considered to aid his development.

Brighton are among the clubs exploring that possibility, with a loan deal seen as the most realistic option for the Seagulls. Reports suggest Tottenham Hotspur F.C. may also have interest in the player and could make a permanent offer.

Why Real Madrid Could Send Him Out

Mastantuono, whose current market value sits at around £43 million, remains one of South American football’s most highly regarded young talents. However, competition for places has made it difficult for him to break into Real Madrid CF’s first team, and a move elsewhere could give him the consistent minutes he needs at this stage of his career.

Brighton’s appeal is clear. No Premier League club gives more minutes to young players, with 45.1% of their total playing time going to youth. That commitment to development has become a defining feature of the club’s recruitment strategy and could be a decisive factor in any potential deal.

Under Fabian Hürzeler, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. continue to trust young, dynamic profiles, particularly in attacking areas, and encourage players to take risks and develop within a structured system.

Why Brighton Fit the Profile

A loan move for Mastantuono would fit that model, offering him the opportunity to gain Premier League experience while strengthening Brighton’s attacking depth.

There is competition from other clubs and Real Madrid are yet to make a final decision on his immediate future. But Brighton’s track record suggests they will be firmly in the conversation if a loan move becomes available this summer.
