  • Opta supercomputer gives Brighton a 43.4% chance of beating Leeds United
  • Albion thrashed Wolves 3-0 at the Amex in their latest Premier League outing
  • Brighton are unbeaten in their last seven league meetings with Leeds

Brighton head to Elland Road this weekend with European football firmly in their sights and fresh confidence flowing through Fabian Hurzeler’s side after the emphatic 3-0 dismantling of Wolves at the Amex.

The Seagulls have gathered momentum at exactly the right stage of the season and the numbers suggest there could be more joy to come in Yorkshire. Opta’s latest supercomputer prediction gives Brighton the edge ahead of Sunday’s clash with Leeds United with Albion handed a 43.4% chance of victory compared to Leeds’ 31.9%.

For Brighton supporters there is even more reason for optimism when recent history between the two clubs is taken into account.

Opta Supercomputer Predicts Brighton Advantage

Albion have become something of a bogey side for Leeds in recent years with the Whites failing to win any of the last seven league meetings between the clubs. Brighton have won four of those encounters while three have ended level. The Seagulls also cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season and will arrive at Elland Road believing another big performance is there for the taking.

Brighton’s Wolves Victory Sends Clear Message

There is a growing sense that Hurzeler’s side are peaking at the perfect moment. The slick attacking football on display against Wolves underlined the confidence running through the squad as Brighton tore apart their opponents with pace, precision and ruthless finishing in the 3-0 win at the Amex.

While Leeds deserve credit for securing Premier League safety and extending their unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw at Tottenham, their record against Brighton paints a daunting picture for the home side.

Opta Supercomputer Backs Brighton as History Favours Albion

The Seagulls have lost just once in their previous 14 league meetings with Leeds stretching back more than a decade and there is little doubt over which side will travel north carrying the greater psychological advantage.

European qualification remains within touching distance for Brighton and performances in recent weeks have reflected a team refusing to settle for mid-table comfort. There is belief, swagger and purpose about this Albion side as they chase another memorable finish to the campaign.

Elland Road Test Awaits Fabian Hurzeler’s Side

Elland Road will provide a fierce atmosphere but Brighton have shown throughout the season that they are capable of silencing even the loudest grounds when their fluent football clicks into gear.

After the Wolves masterclass at the Amex, the Seagulls now have another opportunity to make a statement and if the supercomputer is to be believed, Albion fans could be celebrating another valuable away-day success by Sunday evening.
