  • Manchester United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all linked with winger

Brighton & Hove Albion have been tipped as the ideal destination for Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis as speculation surrounding his future continues to intensify ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Greece international has emerged as one of the standout attacking players in Belgium this season. Tzolis has produced a remarkable return of 20 goals and 27 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

With several Premier League clubs circling, former Burnley midfielder Steven Defour believes Brighton could offer the perfect environment for the 24-year-old to continue his rapid development.

Premier League interest grows in Christos Tzolis

Tzolis has attracted significant attention following another impressive campaign with Club Brugge.

Crystal Palace attempted to sign the winger last summer with a reported €32 million offer. Though the Belgian side rejected the proposal. Earlier this year, the player admitted he had been open to the move.

More recently, Newcastle United entered the picture while Aston Villa and Manchester United are also understood to have made contact regarding a potential transfer.

Club Brugge are now reportedly preparing for a major sale. The Belgian side hope Tzolis can surpass the €36 million fee they received from Ardon Jashari’s transfer to AC Milan in August 2025.

Club Brugge star shines in title race

Tzolis once again underlined his importance at the weekend as Club Brugge cruised to a commanding 5-0 victory over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The result maintained their four-point advantage in the Belgian title race. The winger was central to the performance, scoring once and providing three assists in a dazzling display.

His latest showing only strengthened the growing feeling that he is ready for a bigger stage.

Brighton labelled the “perfect next step”

Writing in his column for Het Belang van Limburg, Steven Defour praised both Tzolis and Club Brugge captain Hans Vanaken after the emphatic win.

The former Belgium international believes Brighton would be the smartest move for the attacker rather than an immediate jump to one of England’s elite clubs.

“Vanaken steps up in the big moments. He proved that once again on Sunday with that fantastic opening goal,” Defour said.

“Tzolis was also outstanding again. In recent months, he has really proven that he has outgrown the Belgian league.

“He could well break Jashari’s Belgian transfer record this summer. The real top English clubs might still be a bit out of reach, but a mid-table team like Brighton could be the perfect next step for him.”

Brighton could offer ideal platform for growth

Brighton’s reputation for developing emerging talent into elite Premier League performers could make the club an attractive destination for Tzolis.

The Seagulls have consistently targeted technically gifted young players capable of thriving in a high intensity attacking system. The Greek winger appears to fit that profile perfectly.

With his pace, creativity and end product continuing to improve, Tzolis may now feel the time is right to test himself in England.

Contract situation and market value revealed

Tzolis remains under contract with Club Brugge until 2029, placing the Belgian club in a strong negotiating position ahead of the transfer window.

Transfermarkt currently value the winger at €30 million which represents the highest valuation of his career to date.

His interests are managed by agency The.Team as discussions surrounding his future begin to gather pace heading into the summer.
